My current work lives somewhere between drawing and painting. I love the physical sensation of moving the tools on the paper, building up many layers of paint and marks which come forward and recede, creating both a sense of history and a feeling of suspended time. There is an atmosphere of mystery and vague narrative, like a piece of something half remembered, or the remnants of an early morning dream. I wander the surface of each new piece, a foreign yet familiar place, to catch glimpses of what might be possible, explored, teased out. Finally, I ask, as Nietzsche did - does it dance?
